Ep. 9 - A Conversation with Sarah Mock on Faults in Our Farms

This podcast episode was special in the sense that we got the opportunity to chat with an Age of Awareness author that had been contributing to the publication for years. I first came across the insights and works of Sarah Mock about five years ago here on Medium. It is amazing to see her transformation into a best-selling author with her book “Farm (and Other F Words): The Rise and Fall of the Small Family Farm.”

In this episode, we get to dispel many myths and misconceptions many of us have about the “American farmer” and the current situation for farming in the US. This topic is especially important when it comes to environmental education as no real climate discussions can happen without addressing our current farming model. We chat about hoarding farmland, how our farm subsidies system is broken, and maybe some things to be hopeful about in the future of farming.
